Annual Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees Gemini on June 10, 2021

Tomorrow’s Solar Eclipse in the sign of Gemini has a mysterious quality and the potential for extreme cerebral effects. To set the stage, a Solar Eclipse is when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, obscuring our view of Solar light for a moment. Half a month ago, the cyclical wisdom of the Moon in Sagittarius was blocked when the Moon moved into the Earth’s shadow. This Solar Eclipse, in the multiplicitous sign of Gemini and in combination with it’s ruler Mercury, conjunct the Eclipse and in Retrograde motion, Mercurial insight becomes almost psychedelic.

Gemini is dual by nature, able to absorb information like a sponge through various modes - books, reddit, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, magazines, every which way you can imagine. Their strength is in their ability to listen to information that does not necessarily match their ideology, to constantly hold multiple truths simultaneously, and to remain flexible. They don’t exist in a binary, but instead to blend the two worlds to coexist and play in a light hearted way, like Hermes playing the lyre made of the tortoise he tricked on his first day of life. 

This Eclipse casts a light on truths that we do not necessarily want to see, read, or hear. We are being called into the energetic vortex that a strong Gemini or Mercurial type represents to find out if we can listen to someone we vehemently disagree with. Can we set our biases aside and parse out truths from falsehoods? Can we use our creative thinking to find a middle ground? Can we camouflage, adapt, and find fluid movement to see the world through the eyes of the other? Can we find connection between the Heavens and the Earth?

Tomorrow Mercury slips deeper into obscurity as it completely disappears in a backwards motion in the heart of a hidden Sun. Gemini is associated with the Air element, where ideas flow out of the body and into the air for others to take in through intellect and conversation. Let go of control and ideologies you cling onto for protection. In Gemini, ideas become fractaled, multiplied, shared and multiplied some more. 

In spending time away from technology and other stimuli, spend time toiling away with the intellectual trickeries Mercury offers in the shadows. Play devil’s advocate with your own thoughts; there are no repercussions. Let information move in and out playfully and objectively. Turn off your phone and listen to yourself without self judgement and with great curiosity.
